
Sence of competition.
The competition aims to disseminate knowledge about disaster prevention and control, thereby raising awareness and response skills, focusing on children and teenagers in schools regarding disaster prevention and control; to create a beneficial and healthy playground, strengthen solidarity, and promote the learning of knowledge and skills about disaster prevention and control among students; and to generate interest from all levels of government and schools in disaster prevention and control.
The scope of the competition and the participants are students (from grades 6 to 8) from three schools: Bac Kan Secondary School, Huyen Tung Secondary School, and Duc Xuan Secondary School. It is organized by the Department of Dike Management and Disaster Prevention and Control in coordination with Acecook Vietnam Joint Stock Company and several related units of Lao Cai province.

Speaking at the final round of the "Golden Bell Challenge" competition titled "Together with You to Prevent and Combat Natural Disasters - Building a Sustainable Future," Mr. Nguyen Van Tien, Deputy Director of the Department of Dike Management and Disaster Prevention and Control, stated: Disaster prevention and control requires close attention and guidance from all levels and sectors, and necessitates the joint efforts of the entire society. Raising awareness of disaster risks among the people, including students – the future owners of the country – is essential and must be carried out regularly and continuously to contribute to the goal of "For a society safe from natural disasters."
Through the competition, junior high school students have been educated about disaster prevention and control and climate change, thereby enhancing their awareness, understanding, and skills in responding to natural disasters at school, at home, and in society.
Having passed the preliminary round, 100 contestants, students from Bac Kan Secondary School, Huyen Tung Secondary School, and Duc Xuan Secondary School, enthusiastically competed, answering numerous questions related to disaster prevention and control, including knowledge about various types of natural disasters in the locality.
In the end, Trieu Anh Khoa, class 6A3 of Huyen Tung Secondary School, won first prize; Vu Thi Ha Anh, class 8A4 of Duc Xuan Secondary School, won second prize; and Tong Thanh Truc, class 6A6 of Bac Kan Secondary School, won third prize.

The "Golden Bell Challenge" competition creates a valuable platform that contributes to the effective implementation of the "Enhancing Community Awareness and Community-Based Disaster Risk Management Project, by 2030," which includes the task of integrating disaster prevention and mitigation content into training and teaching programs at all levels of education. It serves as a beneficial playground for students and disseminates knowledge about disaster prevention and mitigation within the community.
